Moricca; loving mother of Joseph (Susan) Moricca and Susan (Alden) Schutte; loving grandmother of Francis (Kelly) Moricca, Timothy (Pilar) Moricca, Deborah (Stuart) Cattell, David (Anupama) Moricca, Jennifer (Timothy) Pincoski and the late Teri Anne Moricca; great-grandmother of 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister of Joseph (late Virginia) Berardi; predeceased by two brothers and one sister; also survived by loving nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 15, at 9:30 AM at Christ the King Church, 30 Lamarck Dr., Amherst 14226. Arrangements by the Dietrich Funeral Home, Inc. Flowers gratefully declined. Marie was very proud of her charitable works, which included being a Lady of Charity (Buffalo, NY) and a member of Family Renew for homeless families in Ormond Beach, FL. She was born on June 7, 1938 in Watertown, daughter of Alfred and Rose (Gross) Giordanelli. One of eleven children, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1956 and worked in the Business Office of the Watertown Daily Times before marrying her husband, James F. Flynn in June 1961 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. They relocated from Watertown NY to Scarsdale NY where they raised their family and were parishioners at Immaculate Heart of Mary church. Grace devoted herself to being a strong mother and raising her three children, enjoyed rousing political discussions and shopping trips. She loved all animals but most especially her dogs and supported many canine charities. The recent light of her life were her two grandchildren who she watched grow and who always amazed and delighted her. She is predeceased by her husband, James, who passed in October 1997; her daughter-in-law, Lisa; two brothers, Michael and Joseph Giordanelli, and four sisters, Theresa Giordanelli Delaney, Lucy Majo, Jenny Tufo and Louise Devine. Grace is survived by three children; Deborah of Tuckahoe, NY, Anne of Greenwich CT, and her son John and his wife Justine, grandson Michael and granddaughter Alexandra of New York, NY; her sisters, Barbara Giordanelli, Mary Gaus, Anne Marie Granetz and her brother, Frank Giordanelli; and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cummings Funeral Service, Inc. Watertown. Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 28 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 29 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Watertown, NY. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you consider a donation may be made to The Humane Society of America, Best Friends Animal Society, or the American Cancer Society.
